06/11/2009 (Agence Europe) - According to the Spanish daily newspaper El Mundo dated Friday 6 November, the Spanish group Acciona is in the process of negotiating the recruitment of the EU high representative for the CFSP (common foreign and security policy), Javier Solana. El Mundo quotes sources close to the negotiations, and states that Mr Solana will be the adviser to the chairman, José-Manuel Entrecanales, on international affairs. The recruitment may be made official in January, El Mundo reports. Acciona is present in the construction, energy and services sectors. It is worth noting that according to the decision of the Council of 29 October, Mr Solana's mandate has been extended until 31 December 2009, "or until the date on which the Lisbon Treaty enters into force, whichever is the soonest".
