Brussels, 04/11/2009 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has submitted to the EU Council of Ministers a draft decision to allow France to levy different rates of taxation on diesel and lead-free petrol but not for diesel for commercial use. The different rates are intended to reflect decentralisation of certain powers previously held by central government and to adapt the tax system to suit the specific situation of the different regions of France.
