13/12/2006 (Agence Europe) - In its conclusions adopted on energy security on Monday 11 December the Council confirmed: the creation of the European network of energy correspondents; it invites every Member State to appoints its correspondents on energy before 31 January 2007 so that the network can be up and running at the beginning of 2007; once these people are appointed, the Commission, as contact point, can arrange, in agreement with the presidency, an initial meeting of the network for defining a clear mandate; calls on the Commission to provide it with both a report on how the European network of security correspondents works and orientations on its future evolution and possible network changes based on experience, by December 2007 at the latest.
