31/08/2001 (Agence Europe) - At the opening of the European Parliament's plenary session in Strasbourg on Monday, President Nicole Fontaine will announce to her colleagues that she has indeed received, according to the proper procedures, the requests for the lifting of the parliamentary immunity of Silvio Berlusconi and Marcello Dll'Utri from the Spanish Supreme Court. Berlusconi being no longer member of the European Parliament, the procedure against him has to be dropped. Ms. Fontaine should nevertheless refer to request referring to Dell'Utri to the Committee on Legal Affairs. For this affair, see EUROPE of 7 July, p.3.
