17/03/2016 (Agence Europe) - Eurozone annual inflation stood at -0.2% in February. Annual inflation in both the eurozone and EU28 stood at -0.2% in February, compared with 0.3% in January, according to the final figures released by the European Union's statistical office, Eurostat, on Thursday 17 March. Negative annual inflation was observed in 15 countries: Cyprus (-2.2%) and Romania (-2.1%), Spain and Bulgaria (-1.0%), Slovenia (-0.9%), Croatia and Latvia (-0.6%), Luxembourg and Slovakia (-0.3%), Germany, Ireland, Italy and Poland (-0.2%) and France and Finland (-0.1%). The highest annual rates were in Belgium (+1.1%) and Austria and Malta (+1.0%). The largest upward impact on eurozone annual inflation came from restaurants and cafes (+0.13 %), while fuel for transport (-0.49 %), heating oil (-0.24 %) and gas (-0.10 %) had the biggest downward impact.
