23/09/2015 (Agence Europe) - European Parliament delegation in Sicily. Eleven members of the European Parliament's regional development (REGI) committee will be in Sicily, in the south of Italy, from 23 to 25 September. The delegation, led by Younous Omarjee (GUE/NGL, France), will take stock on the ground of a number of projects co-financed by EU structural and investment funds and will meet local political representatives. Also scheduled are visits to the Sicilian Science and Technology Park, the 3SUN photovoltaic centre, the archaeological restoration of the Roman villa of the Casale, which has been designated a UNESCO world heritage site, the University of Enna's LEDA earthquake project and, finally, the site of the new university library.
