23/09/2015 (Agence Europe) - Maros Sefcovic to visit Finland. As part of his round of member states to discuss energy union, European Commission Vice-President Maros Sefcovic, who is responsible for the project, will travel to Helsinki on Thursday 24 September to set out for the Finnish government and national stakeholders the benefits of energy union for the country. Sefocovic will hold meetings with Finnish Prime Minister Juha Sipilä, Economic Affairs Minister Olli Rehn and members of the Finnish parliament. His visit will continue on Friday 25 September with a visit to the most energy efficient school in the country. He will then take part, along with Finnish MPs, in a discussion session with citizens. “Finnish creativity and innovation made the country a front runner when it comes to renewable energy sources. The energy union will help Finland capitalise on its past success and increase its security of supply”, he said before his departure. (EH)
