03/07/2015 (Agence Europe) - EU denounces attempt to destabilise country and region. The EU has described attacks by the terrorist group Boko Haram, which left nearly 150 people dead in north-eastern Nigeria in a single night on Wednesday 1 July, as “another attempt to destabilise the country in the region”. The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, nonetheless stated on Friday 3 July that she was confident that the “Nigerian authorities will continue to fight terrorism with the utmost determination and urgency, respecting rules for engagement”. “The EU will continue to support the country in its social and economic development, as well as to tackle urgent needs”, she said in a press release.
