03/07/2015 (Agence Europe) - First operation under the EFSI in Denmark, for investment in clean energy. On Thursday 2 July, the European Investment Bank (EIB) provided equity-type financing in the order of €75 million to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, in favour of an innovative infrastructure fund set up to invest in major energy projects, particularly offshore wind, biomass and electricity transmission schemes. This funding comes as part of the new European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI). The new fund will focus on projects that generate energy with typically lower pollutant and climate-relevant emissions than conventional fossil fuel-based power plants. (EH)
