11/07/2014 (Agence Europe) - Copyright infringements. France, Poland and Romania are not correctly applying the European directive on copyright (2011/77/EU). The European Commission sent reasoned opinions to these countries on Thursday 10 July, as the directive should have been fully transposed by November 2013 . The Commission is particularly attentive to the “use it or lose it” clause extending the protection of sound recordings from 50 to 70 years. These countries will have two months to notify the European executive of the steps that have been taken to remedy the problem raised by the Commission. (MD)
