09/11/2012 (Agence Europe) - Call for patent law applications. On 7 November the European Commission decided to set up a group of experts responsible for examining the implications of patent law in the field of biotechnology and genetic engineering, and of supplying the Commission with legal and technical expertise which will help it fulfil its obligations in accordance with the biotechnology directive (Directive 98/44/EC). The members of the group (maximum 15) will be chosen from experts responding to the call for applications launched the same day. The members will be appointed for a period of 2 years, renewable once. Interested parties possessing expertise in the field of patent law and biotechnology must apply by 12 December. (SP/transl.fl)
