07/06/2010 (Agence Europe) - Peter Balazs, the outgoing minister for foreign affairs from Hungary, Pat Cox, the former president of the European Parliament and Gilles Savary, former MEP will be the three new coordinators for the Trans-European Transport network priority projects. They will be appointed during the high-level conference on the TEN-T that the European Commission and Spanish presidency of the EU are jointly organising on Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 June in Saragossa. Mr Balazs is expected to take responsibility for coordinating the rail link between Paris and Budapest. Pat Cox will be in charge of the Berlin-Palermo railway axis and Mr Savary will take charge of the railway link between Athens and Dresden. In compliance with the conclusions from the special “Transport” Council, the EU is also expected to appoint, before the end of the year, a coordinator for implementing air space slots. (A.By.)
