07/06/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 3 June 2010, EU home affairs ministers discussed security in the European Union, identifying five major threats that should be dealt with by the EU as a matter of priority, namely terrorism, organised crime and corruption, cybercrime, illegal immigration and catastrophes. EU anti-terror coordinator Gilles de Kerchove briefed the ministers on his ideas about counter-terror work at EU level, like making land transport more secure. The meeting decided to instruct the Standing Committee on Internal Security (COSI) to write an annual report on security and security recommendations in the EU. (B.C./transl.fl)
