Commission recommends marketing approval for genetically modified maize MON 88017 and 59122xNK603

Brussels, 09/09/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 3 September, the European Commission presented two draft decisions to the Council aimed at marketing authorisation for products containing the genetically modified maizes MON 88017 (MON-88017-3) and 59122xNK603 (DAS-59122-7xMON-00603-6), composed of these maize types or products deriving from them.

In both cases, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) gave a favourable opinion - on 6 May 2009 and 18 November 2008 respectively -...
