Brussels, 02/09/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 3 September, in the hope of getting the EP's approval for extending his presidency of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso will send his work programme priorities for the next five years, to the different political groups at the European Parliament. Next week, Mr Barroso will personally appear before all the groups which called on him to debate these priorities. In the early evening of Monday 7 September, he will appear before the Conservative group; on Tuesday he will meet the EPP (15H) and the GUE (17: 30); Wednesday, he will meet the S&D group (10: 30), ALDE (14H and the Greens (16: 30. None of the meetings will be open to the public, except the one with the Greens. On 10 September, the Conference of Presidents of the Groups of the EP, will reach a definitive decision on whether to hold a confirmation vote for Mr Barroso. (H.B./trans/rh)
