31/08/2009 (Agence Europe) - Bilateral talks between Croatia and Slovenia to resolve their border conflict, which has held up the process of Croatia's accession to the EU since December 2008, are "on the right track", the foreign affairs ministers of the two countries announced, further to their meeting in Bled (Slovenia) on 30 August. Over the month of August, progress has been made in contact between Ljubljana and Zagreb, "but there are still matters to be resolved", explained the Slovenian minister, Samuel Zbogar. "We are on the way to an agreement (...). Trust, respect and mutual understanding have been reinforced. That is a success in itself", he said. His Croatian opposite number, Gordan Jandrokovic, also described himself as optimistic. "I believe that we are on the right track", he said, but declined to give any details of the discussions underway. (H.B./transl.fl)
