Resumption of informal talks to resume in Bonn in August provides opportunity not to be missed for progress towards global agreement in Copenhagen

Brussels, 06/08/2009 (Agence Europe) - All 192 parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) and the 37 parties to the Kyoto Protocol will meet in informal session for climate negotiations in Bonn between Monday 10 and Friday 14 August. The UN hopes that this will be an opportunity for progress to be made on a worldwide agreement for the period after 2012 to be reached in Copenhagen in 122 days' time (COP 15, 7-18 December).
