Brussels, 10/07/2009 (Agence Europe) - Meeting under the banner of the European Biodiesel Board (EBB), European biodiesel producers welcomed the formal approval given by the Council on 7 July to definitive antidumping and countervailing measures against Community imports of US B-99 biodiesel, established provisionally in March. The next priority of the EBB, whose complaint filed in June 2008 was at the origin of the investigation by the European Commission, is to ensure full respect of EU measures. The EBB wants to remain “particularly vigilant regarding any possible circumvention attempt, and is already liaising with EU authorities to track and report any shipment of US biodiesel that would enter fraudulently the EC market directly or indirectly via third countries”. Applicable for five years, antidumping duties vary between €68.6 and €198 per tonne and countervailing duties between €211.2 and €237 per tonne. Together, they vary between €213 and €409 per tonne depending on the supplier. Both regulations establishing duties will be published in the Official Journal by 12 July. (E.H./transl.jl)
