Brussels, 09/07/2009 (Agence Europe) - Meeting in Sharm El Sheikh on 29 June, the committee preparing for the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) took the decision to locate the seat of the new organisation for the promotion of green energy worldwide at Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Hélène Pelosse, who is 39 and the former deputy director in the cabinet of the French minister for sustainable development, energy and climate, Jean-Louis Borloo, was elected at the head of the new agency. She had served as diplomatic adviser on international climate negotiations with Mr Borloo and took part at the “Grenelle on the Environment” and then in talks on the Energy/Climate package under French EU Presidency.
