06/07/2009 (Agence Europe) - The management board of the EMCDDA (European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction) unanimously decided on 1 July to renew the mandate of Wolfgang Götz of Germany as director of the agency for a further five years as of 1 May 2010. Mr Götz, who is 57, was elected EMCDDA director in spring 2005 and will now hold the director's position until April 2015. Renewal coincides with the forthcoming launch by EMCDDA of a new work programme for 2010-2015.
