Brussels, 04/06/2009 (Agence Europe) - Amr Moussa, Secretary General of the Arab League, is expected in Luxembourg on Sunday evening 14 June for a dinner with European troika members, before the session of the General Affairs and External Relations Council. This meeting is not absolutely certain to take place and is part of the consultations begun with the Arab League more than a year ago. Doubts about whether it will take place are down to the fact that several Arab ministers asked to attend and called for the 27 European affairs ministers to take part. The latter, however, have a very full agenda, given that on 15 June they will be attending the Council session and the EU-Algeria Council session meeting, as well as a meeting with Israel on 16 June. Avigdor Lieberman will chair the meetings. The latter is the new Israeli foreign affairs minister and will be the focal point of these meetings on the Middle East. (F.B./transl.rh)
