27/05/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 25 May, the Council of Ministers of the EU adopted a decision on the adoption of an additional research programme on the operation of the high flux reactor at Petten (HFR). The programme has been adopted for a period of three years, starting on 1 January 2009. The financial contribution considered necessary for the operation of the programme is €34,992 million. The HFR is considered an important instrument at the disposal of the Community to contribute to the body of knowledge and tests on materials, nuclear medicine and research into safety in the field of nuclear energy.
