20/05/2009 (Agence Europe) - The Agriculture Council of 25 May will formally adopt the draft directive aiming to bring in criminal sanctions against people who employ illegal immigrants in the EU, commonly known as the "sanctions" directive (EUROPE 9844). Once this text is in force, the member states will have two years to adopt the necessary measures to implement the directive. (B.C./transl.fl)
