Commission releases aid for Bulgarian motorway project

Brussels, 12/05/2009 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission released €115 million in Cohesion Fund aid for the motorway and technical assistance project in Bulgaria. This decision comes after the reorganisation of the national “Road Infrastructure Agency” in compliance with European rules.

A suspension had been introduced on 23 July 2008 due to a faulty inspection system and purchasing irregularities. This measure had an impact on two projects in particular, the “Ljulin...
