Commission investigates cooperation practices of airline alliances

Brussels, 20/04/2009 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to open two investigations concerning certain airlines belonging to the "Star Alliance" and "OneWorld". These investigations will focus on current or planned cooperation agreements between four members of Star Alliance (Air Canada, Continental, Lufthansa and United) on the one hand and on a planned agreement between the three members of OneWorld (American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia) on the other.
