Brussels, 17/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - In January 2009, the industrial producer price index fell by 0.8% in the euro area and by 0.6% in the EU27, compared with December 2008 when prices decreased by 1.5% and 1.7% respectively. In January 2009 compared with January 2008, industrial producer prices dropped by 0.5% in the euro area but rose by 0.2% in the EU27, says a Eurostat press release issued on Thursday 12 March.
