In favour of an integrated European armed force

Brussels, 19/02/2009 (Agence Europe) - With the adoption (482 votes to 111 and 55 abstentions) of the report by German Christian Democrat Karl von Wogau on Thursday 19 February in Brussels, the European Parliament massively supports consolidation of European defence.

The Parliament notes that common defence policy in Europe “requires an integrated European Armed Force which needs to be equipped with common weapon systems so as to guarantee commonality and interoperability”. It considers...
