20/01/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 16 January, the European Commission approved the acquisition of sole control of Volgo-Balt Transport Holding (Volgo-Balt) of Cyprus by Jysk Stalinindustrie ApS (Jysk) of Denmark. The latter is a holding company belonging to the Dutch Universal Cargo Logistics Holding B.V., a sea port and stevedoring service provider in Russia. Volgo-Balt is active in the transportation of dry cargo by sea around Europe and Africa and by inland waterways in Russia. The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
