Brussels, 19/01/2009 (Agence Europe) - The United States decided on 10 January to continue its procedure against the Indian wine and spirits import scheme, aligning its position with the complaint put down by the EU against the Indian state of Karnataka, which applies discriminatory taxation to imported wines. The United States has recently backed similar complaints taken by the EU to the WTO against the Indian states of Goa, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu (see EUROPE 9745). (E.H./transl.rt)
