Brussels, 11/12/2008 (Agence Europe) - Debates at the European Parliament will focus on the results of the European Council and the achievements of the French EU Presidency. The EP will be meeting in plenary session from Monday 15 December until Thursday 18 December, in Strasbourg. Also, on Tuesday afternoon, MEPs will hold a far-reaching legislative debate on the climate/energy issue, one of the major themes of the European Council of 11 and 12 December. After awarding the Sakharov Prize Wednesday midday, joint discussions are scheduled on human rights and fundamental rights. Joint discussion will also take place on the following: - education and vocational training, counterfeiting, advertising, justice and consolidated accounts of medium-sized enterprise.
