08/12/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has just put a proposal for a regulation to the Council to put in place definitive anti-dumping measures against the import of certain citrus fruit products and conserves (mandarins, etc) from the People's Republic of China. On 20 October 2007, the Commission opened an anti-dumping procedure on these products and the investigation found that they were being dumped, thus harming the Community industry. Interim measures were, therefore, introduced by the Commission. The continued investigation confirmed the interim conclusions. In its proposal to the Council, the Commission proposes putting in place definitive measures and the imposition of a definitive duty on the import of the said citrus fruit. (O.L./transl.rt)
