20/11/2008 (Agence Europe) - The EU Council of Ministers has adopted without debate a plan to provide rapid financial aid to Georgia in 2008 to help it clear up after the conflict in the summer. The European Union will pay €50.7 million in commitment appropriations to help displaced persons within Georgia. The money will come from Heading 4 of the EU budget (the EU as a world player). Most of it (€39.5 million) is coming from the emergency aid reserve. (L.C.)
