EU grants Hungary €6.5 billion in financial aid - Sarkozy to propose strengthening support mechanism

Brussels, 29/10/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission and the French Presidency of the Ecofin Council have confirmed that they intend to provide a €6.5 billion loan to Hungary in order to stabilise the country's economy which has been severely affected by the financial crisis (with the Hungarian currency plummeting).
