Brussels, 27/10/2008 (Agence Europe) - In Luxembourg on Friday 24 October, Germany, Belgium, France and Luxembourg decided to create a joint police and customs cooperation centre to improve the cross-border fight against criminal activities. This new centre will have its headquarters in the city of Luxembourg. It will bring together representatives of the police and customs authorities of the four participant countries. Their mission will be to gather, analyse and exchange information between the various national services, in order to prepare for the execution of police and customs missions with a cross-border nature. The area of activity of this multi-national centre will cover all of the territory of Luxembourg, the Belgian judicial areas of Dinant, Arlon, Neufchâteau, Marche and Eupen, plus a part of the German Rhineland, all of Saarland and the French departments of Moselle, Meurthe and Moselle, the Ardennes and the Meuse.
