Brussels, 13/10/2008 (Agence Europe) - Employment ministers from 45 countries in Europe and Asia will tomorrow meet to discuss the social dimension of globalisation and global employment issues at the second Asia-Europe (ASEM) Labour and Employment Ministers Meeting (14-15 October 2008 in Bali, Indonesia). The conference will contribute to broader cooperation between the two regions on improving living and working conditions. The European Commission will be represented by Vladimir Spidla. Ministers will discuss global employment issues including training and employability, labour migration, social protection and corporate social responsibility. The main results of the ministerial conference will contribute to the summit of ASEM heads of state taking place on 24-25 October 2008 in Bejing, China. (G.B./transl.rh)
