Brussels, 20/08/2008 (Agence Europe) - MEPs have stepped up their visits to Georgia in recent days to look at developments on the ground. At the request of Joseph Daul, who chairs the EPP-ED Group at the European Parliament, MEPs Elmar Brok (Germany) and Othmar Karas (Austria) went to Georgia on 19 August, their visit being preceded by that of the chairman of the EP delegation for South Caucasus, Marie-Anne Isler Béguin (Greens-EFA, France), from 12 to 17 August.
