31/07/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 31 July 2008, the European Commission approved the acquisition of partial control of insurance and pensions companies Sabadell Vida and Sabadell Generales by Zurich Group, a Swiss insurance company. Sabadell Vida and Sabadell Generales are wholly owned subsidiaries of retail bank Caixa Sabadell. The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (C.D. /transl fl)
