23/07/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 23 July, the European Commission decided not to raise objections to plans to extend until 2014 a scheme piloted by Austria's federal government and aimed at launching new, high-quality intermodal services for inland navigation on the Danube. The scheme will take the form of an environmental premium (from 18 to 34 euros per container transported) with an annual budget of a million euros. (L.C./trans.fl)
