Commission preparing EGF aid of 10.5 million EUR for 1589 Spanish car industry workers

Brussels, 23/07/2008 (Agence Europe) -On Wednesday 23 July, the European Commission approved a request for aid of 10.5 million euros under the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) made by Spain. Spain's application relates to 1521 redundancies in factory of the American car equipment manufacturer, Delphi, and 68 redundancies among its sub-contractors, making a total of 1589 redundant workers, on the Puerto Real site (south-west Spain).
