Commission to examine feasibility of tax measures to deal with rising food and oil prices

Brussels, 20/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - Concerned at the recent hikes in food and oil prices, the European Council recommended that the member states and European Commission should make a coherent response based on short, medium and long-term measures. Ahead of the upcoming summit, the European Commission will assess the feasibility of the tax measures mooted by various parties.
