New database on Return Migrants to the Maghreb

Brussels, 13/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European University Institute in Florence, Italy, announced on Tuesday 10 June 2008 that it has launched a new online Database on Return Migrants to the Maghreb (DReMM). The database contains information on the process of integrating around a thousand return migrants and their post-return conditions in their countries of origin. It includes a raft of variables on the migrants' personal information, employment, education, migration experience and why they moved abroad and decided to return. The database aims to help distribute and make use of the results of a survey carried out by the MIREM project team, a programme funded by the EU to study the integration of return migrants in Maghreb countries (Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia).
