Negotiation mandate still deadlocked

Luxemburg, 29/04/2008 (Agence Europe) - Lithuania, apparently very isolated, continues to block the opening of negotiations between the EU and Russia on a new enhanced partnership agreement. Foreign Minister meeting in Luxemburg on Tuesday, failed to find a way out which would have allowed Lithuania to lift its reservations on the adoption of the draft negotiating mandate proposed by the Commission (see EUROPE 9644).
