16/04/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 15 April, the European Commission announced a month extension (to 15 June) to the consultation period for re-examination of the EU budget. Budget Commissioner Dalia Grybauskaité's spokesperson, explained that the European Commission had received many very recent contributions, and many interested parties (including member states and certain social partners) wanted to make contributions soon. The spokesperson also said that the important budget revision conference (spending and revenue) is postponed until September or October. The Commission will still be adopting its proposals at the end of 2008 or at the beginning of 2009. (L.C.)
