Parliament supports setting up of Global Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Fund

Brussels, 13/03/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 13 March, the European Parliament in Strasbourg adopted the own-initiative report by Claude Turmes (Greens, Luxemburg) by a majority of 343 to 11, with 11 abstentions, thereby giving its backing to the European Commission proposal to set up a Global Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Fund (GEEREF).
