EFSA criteria for nutritional and health claims in food

Brussels, 29/02/2008 (Agence Europe) - On 26 February, the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA) provided the Commission with its opinion on foodstuffs carrying nutritional or health claims. This opinion will assist the Commission and member states in the application of the regulation establishing strict rules for the use of such claims in labelling, presentation and advertising of foodstuffs (regulation 1924/2006 as amended by regulation 109/2008).
