Brussels, 08/02/2008 (Agence Europe) - Serbia has “relevant information” that Kosovo will unilaterally declare itself independent on Sunday 17 February, said Serbian Minister for Kosovo Slobodan Samardzic after a meeting in Belgrade with Javier Solana's adviser Stephan Lehne on 8 February. In Pristina, Kosovan Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi said that “some 100 countries” would recognise Kosovo's independence as soon as it was proclaimed. With or without a declaration of independence on 17 February, Kosovo is sure to dominate the next EU General Affairs/External Relations Council, which will take place in Brussels on Monday 18 February.
