01/02/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has arranged a competition to select a logo for a new two-euro coin celebrating the 10th anniversary of EMU and the single currency. EU residents and citizens have until 22 February to vote online at a website created to this end (http://www.eurodesigncontest.eu/vote/cfm?lang=en ). The winning design will be the one that gets the most votes from a shortlist of five and will be used for the commemorative coin, to be issued in all eurozone countries early next year. One of the online voters will be selected to win a prize of a valuable set of euro coins. (A.B.)
