01/02/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 31 January, the European Parliament brought greater clarity and consistency to the initial proposal on the submission by member states of statistics on aquaculture production. The report by Philippe Morillon (ALDE, France) on the text was adopted by 599 votes to 9, with 17 abstentions. The aim of the amendments introduced was to avoid further costs for national administrations. (L.C.)
