23/01/2008 (Agence Europe) - A mistake appeared in EUROPE 9583 in the article on the EP vote on Europol. The reference in EUROPE 9567 did not refer to the appointment of the Europol director but the appointment of the director of the European Agency for Fundamental Rights (EUROPE 9580). The current director of Europol is Max-Peter Ratzel. He was appointed in February 2005 for a mandate of four years. The appointments procedure for his successor has not yet begun. (B.C.)
