10/01/2008 (Agence Europe) - The highly pathogenic HFN1 strain of the avian influenza virus has been detected on three dead swans at a bird sanctuary in Dorset, south-west England, the British government announced on Thursday 10 January. In line with Community legislation, a surveillance and control zone has been established around the contaminated sites.
